Throttle cables - where ?
Having broken a clutch cable on Sunday, now I'm getting a bit paranoid about what would happen if I was far from home and broke a throttle cable.
So can you wonderful peeps out there suggest the best source of replacements (mail order)
I did look up Wemoto who only list the slinky slide (or whatever they're called) but they have been rubbished on this forum. And the David Silver items are special order only and rather expensive.
Ideas ?

Wemoto do have the Honda stuff if you have the part number. Scroll down a bit, on the right there's a box that says "Enter OEM part number".
Oh, probably the same price as David Silver though, so there is that.

Yes. Honda, David Silver and Wemoto are all £22.64 for each cable. I did find an ebay listing from motorcycle-recycle (?) for the pair (new) for £17.90.
Worth a punt , do you think ? Or direct from Hong Kong for under a tenner the pair !

Re: Throttle cables - where ?
If you nervous but don't yet need buy a cable repair kit Most like the ones I see have a clutch and a throttle type inner with one end fitted and solderless nipples for the other end
Add a pair of pliers and you good to go
I carried a "set" fro years done several clutch cables and a single thottle cable on current CB500 at side of road
We use a similar set up in the workshop to get stranded riders going while we get the right cable in !

On other bikes I've used those cable repair kits to good effect - they do take up less space than a whole load of cables taped together.

So who does the standby cable repair kits, please ? They sound like a good idea and no need to spend lots until absolutely necessary.

The key thing with the repair kits is to get one that has large enough cables and screw-on nipples/ends to enable it to replace the clutch cable.

Re: Throttle cables - where ?
The ones I sell do have a decent clutch cable replacement inner to the extent I running one as a permanent on me FZ6 fazer as the standard cable is in my view not nice !
Just looked not got much in ordering :-))
