im new here - hi :) question about front forks
hello all im new here
just bought a yellow '98 CB. 30k miles. been doing a big ole service and making everything lovely.
im looking to stiffen up the front forks... would you suggest thicker oil and spacers or progressive springs?
any advice much appreciated

Re: im new here - hi :) question about front forks
Hello and welcome along,
various threads on here ref forks : oil / progressives.. I've hagon springs in mine, don't dive too much at all and do add to the feel when cornering (their pack comes with 7.5w oil that I've found ok).
Imo the standard setup isn't too bad at all and not a major bother. However, fresh oil and it'll be better anyway, all depends on the roads you ride.

hi mate thanks for the message.
i ride all over the place, london, surrey (which is a bit of fun - box hill area) and up north to see family which is even more fun.
ive got some 15w oil ready to go in with the standard springs. maybe i should give that a go without spacers and see how it is
it really is soft though lol and im about 103kg... lets see how it feels with the fresh oil..
thanks again

fresh 15w oil is a good start without replacing the springs or adding spacers. if its too soft/hard then just adjust the quantity of oil in the legs. put a zip tie on one of the stantions to observe suspension travel.

Tricky is on the money there: start with small changes and see what happens.

You're a new user so if I remember correctly you need to have had your account for a week before you can post images.
