Just registered and wanted to introduce myself.

Currently very new to CB500's, well bikes in general. I am looking to get started with a CB500 for my daily commute so I can leave my van at home. Every one of my friends in the know have suggested that a CB500 is the way to start. Looking to get on to a Direct Access course in the new year.

Been looking around in my local(ish) area, but they seem a bit thin on the ground? I am based in Essex, and only a couple up within around 40 miles, all being from dealers and being priced a bit on the high side (e.g £1300 for a 1996 34K).

Am i just looking in the wrong places, or is this the wrong time of year?

    Cheers,

    Ed

Welcome Ed.  You're making a good choice.

Not sure if this is still available and how far you're prepared to travel.

Also keep an eye on Gumtree.  Thats where I found mine.  In my experience, decent models come up and are then gone very quickly so make sure you setup your alerts on ebay and gumtree.

    Hope you get sorted.
