Each to their own,
front mudguard and rad panels are a different colour to the tank and rear cowling, tank is dented, wheels have been resprayed, mismatch bolts holding the rad panels, engine paint lifting in chunks, rear mudguard has been re-drilled as the indicators have been moved, rear grabrails missing, peg hangers poorly painted black, chain is slack and dirty, seat has been remodeled, speedo cable looks very tight, wouldn't trust the brake discs either.

All true, but that is actually quite good condition for a CB500 :) I'd be more concerned by the fact it is obviously being sold by a dealer, so she/he won't know anything about its history - has it had regular oil changes through its (nearly) 100k miles? Could be quite important....

I found MOT history a useful tool and it put me off some bikes that looked good.

The reg for this bike is W523VGK

Apparently the steering bearings have slight play... :)

If you look at hits history one year it went from about 30k miles to about 60k miles... that's not a nice commute!

If you look between the 2010 and the 2011 mileage it went down 336 miles.

30k a year is reasonably achievable. It's only 577 miles a week. Say work is 30miles each way (not uncommon near me) That's 300 a week in commuting, 150 miles each day on the weekend
