    First chain replacement - not really sure what the norm is here.

    I mean this is JT - should be good right? at whatever price..

    The original factory set on my bike was JT/sunstar, and that's what I've used as replacement. Should be fine. Some folks are DID fans though.
    Take care not to mix up the earlier and current CB500 though.

    DID chains are OEM as are Sunstar sprockets and brake discs'. Personally I use DID vx I think it is and JT sprockets.

    I had a JT chain on one of my bikes, it rusted up even with oil. In the end after trying to clean it I had to use wirewool to remove most of the rust, that and the hardening on the rollers wasn't very hard so the chain also became worn very quickly.

    Be careful with what you're looking at on ebay as you've linked the newer cb500 with a different pitch chain and then ours.

    I had jt chain it rusted non stop and chain didnt last too long either
