Rear wheelbearing broke up
Well had lucky one on monday evening rear wheel bearing broke up on motorway. I managed to get bike home through back roads at 20mph. Bearings were not that old i think they were kyo (did i spell that right) as i have cb 500 v and cb500s not sure... As i changed allĀ wheel bearings in both bikes... In last couple years. I have to check my ebay history.

Did you have your chain tension set wrong? for them to go like that on same side suggests too much uneven tension on the sprocket bearings
