    Hey guys.

Just passed my test last Saturday and got a 98 cb500s yesterday.
But I'm away this whole weekend so can't ride.

Also need to buy restrictors as I'm a 33bhp rider.

Congratulations on passing your test, tip for getting your bike restricted-buy the Honda restricting kit, about £35 and then get a local mechanic to put them in. About 1/2 the cost compared to getting it done at a dealers with the fancy kit and certificate etc. I just got mine dyno tested when it was in and had the printout as my evidence should anyone want to see any. I've just had mine un restricted, but already passed the kit on.

It's worth remembering that there is no legal requirement to carry evidence of your bike being restricted, it is up to the police to prove that you aren't, so if you are mechanically inclined you can fit the kit yourself

I rode through my restriction (in London) without ever being stopped by the police

Your insurer may ask for evidence of restriction but not all do

Welcome to the forum. A female friend of mine did just as Stormy suggested - rather than going down the more expensive 'dealer fitted' option.

She says it all was fitted wirh no problem.

As I ride an unrestricted CB it will be interesting to have a ride on her bike as well to see what the 'difference' actually feels like in real life...

    Cheers cheers
