Visor Cleansing Empty Visor Cleansing

Post by Basil Moss Thu 05 Sep 2013, 8:16 am

So I generally use fairy liquid and water, but have a bottle of the "Muc Off" stuff which I carry around with me for use on the move, which works really well. Thing is, it's run out, and is quite expensive for 35ml of stuff. I'm trying to work out if it's just really expensive screenwash, and if I can pinch some screenwash from the wifey's car to refill the bottle. Any ideas?

Just use some vinegar. It may give you the munchies but it cuts through the bugs and crap on the visor, the poor mans Windolene!

One of those spongey dishcloth thingies that supermarkets sell in packs of 5 or so. Keep one moist in a rolled up plastic bag in the tool compartment or an overall pocket. It cleans visors smear free and cheap.

Don't use paper towels on your visor; they'll scratch it to buggery.

I carry a small atomiser bottle that had proper visor cleaner in it when I bought it years ago. It's since been refilled with Tesco value window cleaner many, many times. A few sprays of that and a wipe/buff with a microfibre cloth has my visor looking great.

I clean my lid and visor several times a week. I wear it every day and I'm particularly anal about my visor being dirty. I've been known to pull over to clear up a splattered bug; I get very precious about it!
