Drain the Fuel Tank?
Hi all, just a quick one. I've got the fuel tank off the bike for repainting but there's still a little fuel in the bottom. How can I drain it with the tank off the bike? Does the tap have a vacuum fallback to stop it draining out anywhere if the tap fails? If so how can I work around that?

Re: Drain the Fuel Tank?
There is two hoses that come out of the fuel tap a little hose that normally goes into the back of the cylinders and the main petrol hose that goes to the carbs. You need to suck on the end of small hose and it'll allow for fuel to come out of the main hose (the big thick one). Oh and don't forget to put the fuel tap onto reserve before you do it. Word of warning is that if you need to stop the petrol quick instantly releasing the vacuum hose will not stop the petrol immediately, it will run for about 0.5-1.5 seconds after the vacuum has been released.
