Re: Meet Up 12th July - Beaulieu
Due to my relocating, I may or may not be in this part of the country. Bump the thread a few weeks beforehand so I can work out if I'm even here or not.

Re: Meet Up 12th July - Beaulieu
We have a few others offline, that are staying over too.
Anyone else planning to stay, or wanting to meet at the TravelLodge in the morning for a group ride to Beaulieu?

I can't make it (typically!) but I would suggest that you publish the time/date/position of where you are planning to meet up just in case any one can. If no one appears 5 mins after the appointed time of departure then just leave as planned...

Re: Meet Up 12th July - Beaulieu
Excellent Glad you can make it.
We'll be leaving the Travelodge at 8:30am on Sunday, so why not meet us there, and we can all ride to Beauleau together. That way, we'll all get parked up together too.
We're aiming to get to Beauleau for about 9:45, if you would prefer to meet us there.

Don't forget that your £6 'Simply Bikes' ticket, gets you free entry to the motor museum (normal price £24!). Is anyone else hoping to come along?

I'm considering dependant on work. Won't know until much closer to the date though & will most likely be riding down on the morning if I do come.

No problem at all. You can buy entrance on the day, albeit it's a bit more expensive (see original link).
Hope to see you there, admiring your old bike!

Re: Meet Up 12th July - Beaulieu
I'm hoping to get my CB500 back on the road by then, I'm missing using it a lot; the Bandit I've borrowed just isn't me. If not, I'll have to get there by Bandit.

I won't be there guys. I'm going on a charity bike ride that day for 'Hands for Alan' that I mentioned about a month or so back.

Great cause that. I donated when you mentioned it before. I'm glad to see they're making progress.

Not me, I'm afraid. The missus has got us tickets for the Red Bull Soapbox Race and we're taking my favourite nephew. I didn't tell her of this Beaulieu trip soon enough.
Sorry.
I don't know why the link tags are pissing about.

Re: Meet Up 12th July - Beaulieu
Well all ready to go. Just realised no panniers or top box on the CB5 so unsure how I'm going to carry anything as no storage except under the seat I suppose!!!
I'll make the effort to take the CB5 as it is a CB5 meet but not looking forward to nearly 400 miles on it. Hope the rain keeps away.

A rucksack bungeed to the back seat (or on your back for that matter) works quite well. That way it's easy to lug around with you on the day.
Another option is a tankbag. I have a Buffalo slipstream like this one on the bay & it's easily big enough for an overnighter, I'm not sure I'd want to go much larger though as it does get in the way of the clocks slightly. The map pocket base fits in the main compartment when using it as a rucksack too which is handy. It's a pity you don't live closer or you could have borrowed it or the matching soft panniers.
