With our office move soon, not riding to work would make a 30-40 minute journey each way into almost 2 hours!

Regarding fork drain screws.
A useful tip I have used on several bikes including my CB500W 1998 is to drill and tap M5 the bosses that are cast in fork leg bottoms but not adopted.
Put bike on centre stand, drill 4.2mm dia and tap M5 in situ. No need to disassemble as oil draining out will flush any swarf.
Use mixture of 50/50 white spirit and oil in fork top to rinse out gunge and wear debris.
Install M5x12 or M5x10 screws with fibre sealing washers. Refill forks.
Easy quick job. And simple to change, tune or adjust fork oil in future.

I always thought this should be possible, though it's good to hear that somebody has actually done it and showed that it works.

likewise it's good to know it can be done but risky if you don't make a good job of the tap and adds another point of failure. it's no biggie to slide the fork out and tip to empty plus any lumps of crud will come out - that way you can also make sure it's perfectly vertical to measure the air gap on the refil.

.....and yes that is string on my centre stand, the replacement side stand isn't back from the coaters yet and during the testing period I couldn't run both stands so I've only attached it back on loosely for now while I have nothing else (except the original one which I'm too lazy to refit in the meantime lol).

Looks lovely u did an amazing job on bike, decals look professionally done. Great work, u should rescue an other bike and do an other restoration, maybe a two stroke
