Well since I'm the most unluckiest person you know.... I also sliced my thumb open on a brake pad retaining clip on a caliper hanger today too.

Re: What did you do with your CB500 today?
I'm slowly getting things sorted, got a few bits sold this weekend so should be a nice injection of ca$h moneyzz into the bank account for another bike. I'm torn between a cb500 for £450, a cbr600f3 track bike for £500 or trickys bike....

Re: What did you do with your CB500 today?
Today I finally got round to changing my front indicators so now I'm running 4 cbf125 indicators.
I've gone from these
To these
they didn't fit exactly so I had to fit a washer so they wouldn't spin round but they're good to go now and are much brighter.

looks much better - though might need to attend to that tiny bit of rust on the inside of the bowl? (if its even worth saving!)
did you have to drill the bracket out? i seem to remember the mounting thread was considerably bigger when i did mine

It's fine just surface rust and bubbling chome that will cut you given a chance.
I just used a washer on the outside of the headlight bracket and then just a nut on the inside and they aint going anywhere. Drilling would seem a bit too extreme for me.

Re: What did you do with your CB500 today?
It's a bit of a shameful story:
I had to drain my tank after filling it with diesel...... With only half a tank and a warmed up engine, only some smoke showed something strange. But after adding dry fuel (treatment against water) this was explainable. The next morning the bike didn't fire up.
Seems like the story of beer containing female hormones is true(!?), so I guess I have to cut back on it. BTW: When this happened it was way before cocktail hour.
Cheers,
Rob

Mot pass today for the "spare" bike, no issues save slightly smaller than legal numberplate (£10 fix from fleabay). Its a 1995 one, 45k on it.

Rob, rob, rob......
At which point did it feel 'right' to fill it with diesel?!

Re: What did you do with your CB500 today?
my mate put diesel in his gt 500 Suzuki a couple of years ago when he was on his way to the manx , he had to ring another mate up with a van and another bike so a tragedy was averted while he was away the other mate cleaned all the system out of diesel and the old girl was was running well again, result

Well done for admitting to it! :)
Do you have a diesel car or van by any chance?
I'm sure the bike will be fine once you've got it all out...

In my experience of doing similarly stupid things if you were thinking/awake enough to 'notice' what you were doing then you wouldn't do it!

Re: What did you do with your CB500 today?
Bit nippy on the toes this morning. Compacted snow that had melted and turned into black ice was fun.
After I took this I got back on the bike pulled in the clutch and put the bike into first and it spin the rear wheel with the clutch pulled in, never done that before.

Whoah looks wild and snowy over your way, James. We got a bit yesterday morning but it was mostly gone by tea time.

Sounds like the clutch needs adjusting.
